Patentability / Novelty Search
A patentability search is for finding art (patents, NPL) that is closest to your invention. If you are trying to see if your invention has already been done this is the search you want. We search for US and international art using professional patent search software. A concise report is provided, along with the PDFs of the references found.
Clearance / Infringement / Freedom to Operate Search
A clearance search is done to discover patents related to a product and if it is, or will, infringe upon other patents. We search in the country of release and focus on the claims of the patents.
Invalidity / Validity Search
An invalidity search is done based on an issued patent or application. The purpose is to find prior art that precedes the date of that patent in order to invalidate that reference. We perform worldwide searching in order to find art that the patent examiner responsible for issuing that patent failed to find.
State of the Art / Collection Search / Landscape
A collection search is a comprehensive search with most likely a lot of references disclosed. It can be helpful to see the lay of the land of a particular idea or area of art.
Concise Reports and PDFs provided
A report with the subject of search, references discovered, discussion of best art, classes and subclasses searched, and text search terms used is provided. The PDFs of all references cited in the report are provided.
Design Search
A design search is for the overall ornamental look of a product / invention. We search through US Design classes, and can do worldwide design using Locarno.
